The 2016 Nissan JUKE made an appearance at Australia’s infamous White Night, an all-night celebration of art and culture in Melbourne. Two Nissan JUKES were wrapped in a glow-in-the-dark skin to be used in a street graffiti art competition. Local artists, Snake Hole and Chris Le used black paint and pens to showcase their talent using the JUKE. White Night onlookers watched on and occasionally joined in by using their smartphone light to draw on the glowing skin. Snake Hole quite fittingly named their piece “Snake Wrap.” They explained, "Our initial impression when we saw the JUKE was it had snake-like characteristics. The grill, headlights and long smooth lines resonated immediately with us. We decided to create a series of snakes that traced the shapes and features of the JUKE. We utilized negative space, so that the snakes were glowing, and everything else would be blacked out." Chris Le named his piece “Journey to the West.” He explained, “Since it is the Year of the Monkey in the Chinese lunar calendar, I thought it would be fitting to depict Monkey and his friends on their journey to the West. Obviously an Asian themed illustration must include dragons since they are a big part of the culture, so it was only natural to draw epic dragons weaving past the character on the car." If you like the cider, you can purchase it by the bottles to take home. 518 SongFest If you're a huge music fan, be sure to plan a visit to 518 SongFest. Nissan Group has announced its February 2016 sales results for the U.S. and the numbers look promising. Nissan totaled 130,911 units during the month which resulted in an 11 percent increase over February 2015. This was also a new February record for Nissan Group. The Nissan Division also finished February with a new record, selling 120,540 units which was a 13 percent increase. There were several cars that contributed to this exciting record, including a February record 34 percent increase in Sentra sales, reaching 20,599 units. The Rogue and Pathfinder also set February records with 21,561 units and 21,561 units respectively. Nissan crossovers, trucks and SUVs were up 14 percent while Nissan cars were up 12 percent, both setting February records. This was an exciting month for Nissan, and we are excited about what March has in store! Nissan R390 GT-1 This car looks like your six-figure supercar and outperforms most other European competitors. Behind a 3.5 liter V-8 engine, the R390 GT-1 goes up to 220 miles per hour and gets to a quarter-mile in just 11 seconds. However, finding one is tough; there were only two ever made. Nissan Skyline GT-R Z-Tune Another one of Nissan's masterpieces was the Nissan Skyline GT-R Z-Tune, which despite its smaller inline six-cylinder engine, still competes with larger V-8 engines. This turbocharged marvel of engineering produced 500 horsepower, capable of producing a top speed of 180 miles per hour and a zero to 60 time of just four seconds. The new and improved 2016 Nissan LEAF was one of the main features that Nissan put on display at the 2016 GSMA Mobile World Congress that is currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain. This congress began on Monday and runs through today. During the past few days, Nissan has displayed several of its technological advancements including the new LEAF which is now equipped with a number of efficiency upgrades including a new 30 kWh battery. Along with the display, Nissan has also released a new video where they “unbox” this model while a voiceover discusses all of the new upgrades to this model including style, sound quality, performance, charging, and much more. As the state capital of New York and an important historical city for more than 300 years, Albany has a great number of landmarks. The next time you're traveling through the city, stop by some of these places for a bit of culture, history, or the great outdoors. New York State Capitol Building What kind of visit to Albany would you have without a trip to its most famous building? Built in 1899 at a whopping cost of $25 million, the New York State Capitol Building is still the seat of government activity to this day. Legend has it that it's haunted, so you can walk around on your own at your own risk. Guided tours are also available to learn a bit more about the building's history and stunning architecture. The RCA Dog If you've ever looked at an old RCA vinyl, you'll find Nipper the Dog listening to a phonograph. Although RCA dissolved in 1986 and closed its factory, a four-ton statue of Nipper still sits on top of the building. It's a cool reminder of Albany's past. Chester A. Arthur Memorial Tomb Located in the middle of the large, old Albany Rural Cemetery, this tomb is the resting place of America's 21st president. While it is by no means to the scale of Lincoln's tomb or Grant's tomb, it still has great historical value and an ornate angel and inscription. These are just a few of the numerous landmarks to visit in Albany. Chances are, you'll have to go back for another trip, but after visiting, you'll almost certainly want to. The world’s first automated “Intelligent Parking Chair” has emerged in Japan. Nissan created this concept modeled after their popular Intelligent Park Assist. Similar to the park assist that helps drivers park their vehicles using automatic steering, the chair automatically moves to its original position. After meetings adjourn and businessmen and businesswomen are too tired to push in their chairs, the chair, with its roller, automatically moves 360 degrees and returns to its destination. It is guided by four cameras that wirelessly transmit the chair’s position. Check out the video below! If you live in Albany, there's a chance that you've already had to scrape the ice off your car windows several times this year or driven in less than ideal wintry conditions. Look for a wiper fluid that has antifreeze or a de-icer so it doesn't freeze in the fluid reservoir when it gets cold. Pack an Emergency Kit Pack an emergency kit just as a precaution. During the winter, roads can become undrivable or they can close with little warning, leaving you stranded. In this kit, include blankets, flares, a flashlight, non-perishable food, and extra clothes. It's better to have too much than not enough.
