So far, most electric vehicle designs from Nissan have been pretty mild. The thought behind this was, a new technology such as an EV will take time for consumers to adapt to. So, including what they’re used to, four in-line wheels, four doors, four seats and a steering wheel in front of the driver, might make the transition a bit easier.

Well, Nissan must think that we’re ready for a more daring design. In Rio de Janeiro they unveiled their newest working prototype EV, the BladeGlider. And let’s just say, this isn’t your parent’s EV.

Powered by a lithium-ion battery which runs two motors to provide power to the rear wheels, the BladeGlider EV can go from 0 to 62 mph in just under 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 115 mph.
