Three Great Features of Nissan’s Safety Shield

It’s always about safety when you’re out-and-about on busy highways, and with Nissan’s Safety Shield technology along for the ride, you’ll benefit from many advanced safety features.
Monitor
The Nissan Safety Shield Monitor group includes safety features that track conditions on and around your vehicle in order to prevent problems before they start, helping you avoid everything from flat tires to vehicle collisions. These features include the blind warning spot and predictive forward collision warning systems, the smart auto headlights, the tire pressure monitoring system, and the Around View monitor.
Respond
Unexpected situations can happen at any time, and with the Respond features on the job, you’ll have an extra layer of protection. These active features are ready to provide extra functionality and support in critical situations and include the anti-lock braking system, traction control system, vehicle dynamic control, and the brake assist feature.
Protect
When an unexpected event takes place, the Protect group of the shield goes into action. These features are designed to add a level of protection during an actual situation. When needed, the Protect technology activates the advanced air bag system and dispatches supplemental air bags and the LATCH system, which addresses the tether and anchors securing children in place.
With so many things to be aware of and pay attention to when driving, let the Nissan Safety Shield be your co-pilot to safety. With the shield technology ready at any moment, you can drive safely and with confidence.

Top 4 Reasons to Buy an Electric Vehicle
Whether you are concerned about your environmental impact or just trying to save money on gas, there are plenty of reasons to buy an electric car.
1. Save a Bundle
Even though fuel prices are lower than ever, they are always fluctuating, which means that you never know for sure what a tank of gas will cost. According to the EPA website, if a gallon of gas costs around $2, an electric version of the same vehicle will save you about $400 per year to operate. You may get lower prices if you charge your car at night during off-peak times.
2. Qualify for Tax Credits
Operating an electric vehicle is cheaper, plus the government will pay you when you buy one. The current federal tax credit on a qualified EV is $7,500, making the purchase price lower.
3. Skip the Maintenance
Unlike gas-fueled vehicles that require routine oil changes, transmission services, and other maintenance, electric cars don’t require much at all. You can save thousands by opting for an all-electric model.
4. Just as Safe (If Not Safer)
Electric cars undergo the same governmental and private crash testing as other cars, so you don’t have to worry that the gas version is safer. EV may even be safer since many accidents lead to fuel leaks that can ignite and cause severe burns.
With so many advantages, now is the perfect time to shop for an electric car like the leading Nissan Leaf.

Eliminating Your Car’s Blind Spots
When you’re cruising along the highway, looking to make a lane change, you’ll notice that there is often a blind spot that makes it hard to see vehicles alongside your car. With the right adjustment, you can eliminate this spot and make changing lanes even safer. Many accidents are attributed to the inability to see another vehicle next to yours, located in your blind spot.
Check Out Your Mirrors
The major reason that vehicles have massive blind spots is that many drivers don’t adjust their rearview side mirrors properly. In the past, drivers typically adjusted the mirror to have a direct view of the back corner of the bumper. But unfortunately the bumper doesn’t move, so this just doesn’t make sense as the viewpoint for these useful mirrors.
Point Them Outward
Instead, readjust your mirrors so they point outward. The viewing angle of your side mirrors should overlap the view from the rearview mirror inside your vehicle.
Understand the Learning Curve
It takes time to adjust to readjusted mirrors. The first few times that you glance in the side mirrors, it may surprise you to see a different viewpoint. But with time, you will get used to having a different view from the mirrors, making it easier to change lanes.
With a few simple modifications to your side mirrors, you can eliminate blind spots completely. This can help you prevent accidents because it is much easier to see what is to each side of your vehicle. With the right adjustment, driving becomes even safer.

3 Ways to Save Money on Your Next Road Trip
During the summer months, vacationers are at an all-time high throughout the country. As you plan for an upcoming road trip, check out tips to save money.
1. Use GasBuddy
The GasBuddy app is helpful on road trips because it allows you to look up fuel costs at specific stations around you. This helps you know if you should fill up before the gauge drops too low since stations up ahead might be significantly more expensive.
2. Plan Ahead
Start researching hotels and/or attraction tickets long before you pack your bags. Some hotels offer deep discounts in advance, while others drop prices just before the dates arrive in an attempt to fill open rooms. Many attractions offer discounted tickets to buyers who purchase online instead of buying tickets at the gate. Another important tip is to have your vehicle serviced before you go. Simple maintenance tasks such as spark plug replacements and oil changes can be beneficial for extended road trips.
3. Pack Snacks
When you pack your suitcases, be sure to include plenty of snacks and drinks. A single 20-ounce soda at a convenience store can cost as much as a six-pack in a grocery store. The same goes for small bags of chips and candy. If you are traveling with a crowd, shop at bulk stores and portion out snacks in smaller containers.
A road trip is a fun way to see different places around the U.S. without breaking the bank.
