You’re driving home and the gas light comes on. You grumble under your breath, even though you’ve stretched out this tank of gas for weeks. As you pull into the gas station, you feel like you’re pulling into a prison, one that holds your budget behind bars. Maybe it’s finally time for an electric vehicle. You’d never have to fill up again. The Nissan Leaf has been a favorite of drivers for years, and the 2018 Leaf promises to satisfy longtime fans and newcomers on the electric vehicle scene. Here’s why you should look out for the 2018 Nissan Leaf.
The e-Pedal
Nissan has done much more than just make the Leaf’s engine energy-efficient. This year, Nissan is introducing the e-Pedal which allows you to speed up and slow down using just the single accelerator pedal. Press down on the pedal to speed up and release pressure to slow down. Let off the pedal completely and the vehicle will stop. Releasing the pedal will even stop the Leaf on a hill. But don’t worry, for aggressive braking situations, you can still use the brake pedal for a quicker response.
ProPILOT Assist
Strong and safe driving habits are crucial to develop, but why not let your vehicle take some of the burden? ProPILOT Assist adjusts steering, acceleration, and brakes to keep you in your lane and at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. Want to take back control? Simply turn off ProPILOT Assist.
The 2018 Nissan Leaf isn’t due for some time, but these features already have us excited for the innovation this fresh model will introduce.
