Safety technologies have become an even bigger part of the automotive industry over the past decade. Technologies that used to be the work of science fiction are now becoming standard features on the latest model cars. The new Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield system offers a new level of security while you drive. Here is a guide to understanding the Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield technology.

What is the Intelligent Safety Shield?

Nissan’s Intelligent Safety Shield (NISS) is a combination of a four-camera system with a three-radar system to see things that you normally cannot. There is one camera on each side of the car and a radar system on the front and sides. Combined, these technologies create four different systems that can see into your blind spots.

New Systems

NISS creates four new systems to help you drive. The Automatic Emergency Braking system responds in a fraction of a second to stop you from running into something in front of you. The Predictive Forward Collision Warning system looks further down the road for hazards and warns you if there is a potential crash coming. The Blind Spot Warning system watches your blind spot for other cars. The Intelligent Cruise Control scans for cars in your lane and adjusts your cruise control speed to avoid hitting them.

Nissan’s new technologies can make driving much safer by watching for hazards that you don’t see. Visit Destination Nissan to get a better look at these new systems for yourself.
