3 Best Family Friendly Nissans

Whether you have toddlers or teenagers, you need a vehicle that can fit the whole family both safely and comfortably. No matter the size of your family, Nissan has the ideal vehicle for you. Take a closer look at these three family-friendly Nissans.
Nissan Altima
If your family is on the smaller side, you’ll find the Nissan Altima to be the perfect option. Starting at an MSRP of $22,500, the 2016 Nissan Altima is one of the more inexpensive family-friendly vehicles. Your family is bound to find the Altima to be surprisingly spacious, which is especially important for older kids. Even more important, you can rely on the Altima to get the whole family from point A to point B.
Nissan Maxima
Just because you have a family doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a touch of luxury when you get behind the wheel. Fortunately the Nissan Maxima strikes a balance between family-friendly and luxurious. This vehicle offers seating for up to five people and features cutting-edge technology, such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Nissan Rogue
If you have a larger family, the Nissan Rogue is the right choice. Unlike the Altima and the Maxima, the Nissan Rogue can seat up to seven people. It’s also perfect for quick trips to sports practice as well as road trips across the country, thanks to a cargo area that’s both smart and spacious.
Whether you’re driving just your crew or the whole team, Nissan has the right vehicle to meet your family’s needs.

The Need For Speed: Nissan’s 3 Fastest Cars Ever

Whether you’re knowledgeable of Nissan vehicles or new to the brand, you may not know that Nissan is one of the top producers of performance cars. Although they aren’t as well-known as some other manufacturers, these vehicles are just as fast, if not faster than the competition.
Nissan GT-R Nismo
The GT-R Nismo is one of the fastest consumer cars ever built. With a 3.8 liter, twin turbocharged V-6, this car packs a punch with 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque. With this kind of power, you’ll go from zero to 60 in a face-melting 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 191 miles an hour. For most drivers, it’s almost too much power and costs almost $150,000.
Nissan R390 GT-1
This car looks like your six-figure supercar and outperforms most other European competitors. Behind a 3.5 liter V-8 engine, the R390 GT-1 goes up to 220 miles per hour and gets to a quarter-mile in just 11 seconds. However, finding one is tough; there were only two ever made.
Nissan Skyline GT-R Z-Tune
Another one of Nissan’s masterpieces was the Nissan Skyline GT-R Z-Tune, which despite its smaller inline six-cylinder engine, still competes with larger V-8 engines. This turbocharged marvel of engineering produced 500 horsepower, capable of producing a top speed of 180 miles per hour and a zero to 60 time of just four seconds.
Although Nissan isn’t a household name for speed and performance, these cars will surely make your head turn. Without a doubt, Nissan has produced some of the fastest cars the world has known.

Avoid Pothole Damage
Every driver is different, but if there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that potholes are the worst. We’ve all had that dreaded experience of hitting an unexpected pothole and hoping it didn’t cause a flat tire or any additional damage. To some, this experience may seem unavoidable. In fact, there are over 500,000 pothole-related insurance claims every year! However, there are a few things you can do to decrease your chances of coming into contact with one during pothole season. Farmers Insurance details the three most important things you can do to avoid pothole damage. Read their tips below.
- Leave More Space: If there is more space between you and the driver ahead of you, you’ll have more time to notice and dodge the pothole they may have just hit.
- Slow Down: Decreasing your speed will improve reaction time. If you do somehow still hit the pothole, hitting it at a lower speed won’t cause as much damage.
- Look Out For Water: Avoid water on the road, since potholes typically fill with water after rainstorms and they are harder to see and judge how deep they are.

The 3 Most Interesting Landmarks to Visit in Albany

As the state capital of New York and an important historical city for more than 300 years, Albany has a great number of landmarks. The next time you’re traveling through the city, stop by some of these places for a bit of culture, history, or the great outdoors.
New York State Capitol Building
What kind of visit to Albany would you have without a trip to its most famous building? Built in 1899 at a whopping cost of $25 million, the New York State Capitol Building is still the seat of government activity to this day. Legend has it that it’s haunted, so you can walk around on your own at your own risk. Guided tours are also available to learn a bit more about the building’s history and stunning architecture.
The RCA Dog
If you’ve ever looked at an old RCA vinyl, you’ll find Nipper the Dog listening to a phonograph. Although RCA dissolved in 1986 and closed its factory, a four-ton statue of Nipper still sits on top of the building. It’s a cool reminder of Albany’s past.
Chester A. Arthur Memorial Tomb
Located in the middle of the large, old Albany Rural Cemetery, this tomb is the resting place of America’s 21st president. While it is by no means to the scale of Lincoln’s tomb or Grant’s tomb, it still has great historical value and an ornate angel and inscription.
These are just a few of the numerous landmarks to visit in Albany. Chances are, you’ll have to go back for another trip, but after visiting, you’ll almost certainly want to.

Nissan Inspires First Intelligent Parking Chair
The world’s first automated “Intelligent Parking Chair” has emerged in Japan. Nissan created this concept modeled after their popular Intelligent Park Assist. Similar to the park assist that helps drivers park their vehicles using automatic steering, the chair automatically moves to its original position. After meetings adjourn and businessmen and businesswomen are too tired to push in their chairs, the chair, with its roller, automatically moves 360 degrees and returns to its destination. It is guided by four cameras that wirelessly transmit the chair’s position.

3 Ways to Prep Your Nissan for the Albany Winter

If you live in Albany, there’s a chance that you’ve already had to scrape the ice off your car windows several times this year or driven in less than ideal wintry conditions. The fact of the matter is that every bit of this weather wreaks havoc on your Nissan, but if you prep your car early, you can improve your car’s reliability and your driving experience.
Change to Snow Tires
To help grip the road, many motorists choose to switch to snow tires. These tires are more pliable than all-weather versions and have better treads to help with traction. At about $100 to $150 per tire, you won’t break the bank, plus you’ll decrease wear on your regular tires.
Add Windshield Wiper Fluid
Another aspect to tackle before winter is adding windshield wiper fluid to your vehicle. This is important for visibility, especially when the weather is awful. Look for a wiper fluid that has antifreeze or a de-icer so it doesn’t freeze in the fluid reservoir when it gets cold.
Pack an Emergency Kit
Pack an emergency kit just as a precaution. During the winter, roads can become undrivable or they can close with little warning, leaving you stranded. In this kit, include blankets, flares, a flashlight, non-perishable food, and extra clothes. It’s better to have too much than not enough.
This winter, try to get ahead of the game by prepping your car early. The sooner you do it, the less you’ll have to deal with problems down the road.

Nick Jaynes, an automotive writer at Mashable, reviewed the new SUV, commenting that the “fleet of warships” name was rather appropriate and the 2016 Armada is going to “bring a bit of attitude” back to the full sized SUV family.
